Spindle steps come in left- and right-turn variants. The difference lies in the starting point of the perforation and the direction of the turn. Where the shoe makes the most contact, the perforation should be maximum. A mnemonic to remember the difference is that a right-handed staircase, when walking up, makes a right turn. The handrail is then on the left when walking up. With a left-handed staircase, you walk up a left-hand turn and the handrail is then on the right. So the picture above left is a right-handed staircase and the picture below left is a left-handed staircase.
Our steps are delivered unmachined after which they are welded into a tube or sleeve. The structure is then galvanised and/or coated as a whole.
