DGK DEJO SYNTHETIC GRATINGS

In some applications, steel may not or cannot be used. Consider the conduction of electricity or chemical reactions of caustic soda and sulphuric acid. For those cases, the dejo grating DGK can offer a solution. 

The dejo synthetic grating DGK is a glass-fibre reinforced grating made of plastic. It is produced in standard sizes (mats) and then cut to size. 

There are no buy-back guarantees for this type of grating and the DGK grating is not recyclable. A Cradle-to-Cradle certificate cannot be issued.

Resin types for synthetic gratings
The plastic resin determines the properties of the grating. Our standard resin is the Orthophthalic polyester resin which offers good protection against atmospheric corrosion. 

For special applications, there may be specific requirements in terms of chemical resistance, fire resistance and smoke dispersion, for example. In such cases, other types can be used, such as Isophthalic polyester (high fire resistance), Vinylester resin (chemical resistance) and Phenolic resin (minimal smoke emission).



Basic colours
The basic colour of our glass fibre reinforced plastic is grey. Any other colour is available on request.

Plastic steps
The synthetic steps have a coloured step profile and are quartz anti-slip. The standard type has square meshes: 40 x 40 mm and a height of 38 mm. The panel has a standard size of 3007 x 287 mm from which steps of different widths can be cut. Assembly is an issue (clamping) as no sketch plates are possible.  

Dejo DGK gratings are supplied as standard with a concave surface (top side) which ensures good non-slip performance. The disadvantage is that rainwater can freeze in the "gutter", causing slipperiness on the bearing and filling bars.

For outdoor applications, a quartz surface (sanded) can therefore be chosen. The embedded grains (<1 mm) provide permanent anti-slip in all directions.

The plastic walking grids can also be finished with a fully closed top layer (thickness 3 or 5 mm). This type is supplied with a quartz anti-slip surface (class R13) as standard.



For fixing plastic gratings, we have various clips in our range to fix the gratings. These are available in both stainless steel and hot-dip galvanised versions. The M-clip and O-clip are the most popular clips, see the images below.
