DPS DEJO PRESS GRID STEPS

Dejo pressed-grid steps (DPS) can be made entirely to measure, but in most cases standard sizes available from stock are used. Each step is fitted as standard with two gusset plates with hole pattern for fastening and an anti-slip profile at the front. In addition, the bearing and/or filling bars can also be provided with anti-slip serrations.

A popular type of stair step is the DPS with bearing bar 30-2, filler bar 10-2 and meshes 34x33 in width 800 and depth 240mm. This type is suitable for both light and heavy passenger traffic. For heavy persons, we take into account a sturdy man/woman carrying 2 heavy toolboxes.

Dimensions of steel mesh steps:
For steps in hot-galvanised version, the following applies as a guide to the minimum and maximum dimensions:

Bearing bar length : 140 - 3000 mm
Bearing bar height : 25 - 150 mm
Bearing bar width : 2 - 5 mm
 
Filling bar length : 100 - 500 mm
Filling bar height : 20 - 50 mm
Filling bar width : 2 - 5 mm
 
Finishing:
  • Hot-dip galvanised in accordance with NEN-EN-ISO 1461
  • Powder coating using TVP Duplex process

For gratings made of stainless steel, the following applies as a guide to minimum and maximum dimensionse:

The various meshes

dejo offers the possibility to produce the gratings in different mesh sizes. Usually, press gratings steps are produced as standard in mesh size 34.33 x 33.33 mm. But dejo can produce gratings in many different meshes: e.g. 33 x 11 mm, 22x11 mm and 22x33 mm etc.

Side panels for press-grate steps
Dejo's standard dimensions for the side panels are the lower dimensions in accordance with the DIN standard. On request, other sketch plates with different pitch can be supplied.

Standard stock
Dejo has a wide range of standard gratings, grating steps, dejogrip steps, plastic gratings and clips suitable for walking loads and light traffic. More than 300 articles are delivered from stock from our warehouse in Wolvega. Ordered before 11:00, delivered within one week. 

Grid specifications
Bearing bars see table, filler bars 10 x 2 mm. 
Mesh size of bearing and cross bars 34.33 x 33.33 mm centres. 
A tolerance on length and width of + 0 to - 4 mm applies to the grid dimensions. 
The first dimension (length) indicates the length of the bearing bars (span).

  • The standard step lengths are 500, 600, 700, 800, 900 and 1000 mm.
    A staircase with more than 4 steps should be fitted with handrails. 
    For more than 18 steps, a landing should also be used. 
    The landing length must be at least 1 metre. 
    For stair widths exceeding 1 metre, the landing length is equal to the stair width. 
    For comfortable walkability, Dejo's rule of thumb is: going forward + (2 x going up) = 630 mm. 
    The overlap should be at least 10 mm. 
    The stair pitch can be determined using the ratio between height and base length: L : H = D. 
    The desired stair pitch is between 30° and 45°.

If the stair slope is not known, but the height (H) and the base length (L) are, then divide the base length (L) by the height(H).
